Can you ride the Kawasaki Versys 650 on an A2 licence?
Yes, you can ride the Kawasaki Versys 650 (2022 onwards) on an A2 motorbike licence. However, you will need to fit a restrictor kit to reduce its power output and make it A2 licence compliant!
Kawasaki Versys 650 (2022 onwards)
The Kawasaki Versys 650 has been completely redesigned again and the 2022 edition looks even better than before! The bike comes with the same 649cc engine and a tubular steel frame from the previous models, but it offers some cool new features you won’t find in the older bikes.
The engine is powerful enough for quick overtaking and riding around town, while not being too powerful for new riders and A2 licence holders. The riding experience is super-smooth, but there are some light vibrations coming out of the engine at motorway speeds. It’s nothing major though and the bike is otherwise extremely comfortable on long rides.
In terms of equipment, the 2022 Kawasaki Versys 650 has a lot of things to offer. It features a large windscreen, modern TFT dash, LED lights, and traction control as standard. You can also get a pair of handguards and heated grips as an optional accessory.
A2 Licence Compliance
The Kawasaki Versys 650 is a 649cc A2-friendly adventure bike. It has a power output of 49 kW (66 bhp), which exceeds the 35 kW (47 bhp) limit needed for an A2 licence. The bike has to be restricted by at least 28.5% to become A2 licence compliant.
You will need a restrictor to ride the Kawasaki Versys 650 on an A2 motorbike licence. See the restrictor kits section to check out what restrictors are available for the Kawasaki Versys 650.
