Can you ride the Ducati DesertX on an A2 licence?
Yes, you can ride the Ducati DesertX (2022 onwards) on an A2 motorbike licence. However, you will need to fit a restrictor kit to reduce its power output and make it A2 licence compliant!
Ducati DesertX (2022 onwards)
The Ducati DesertX is retro-style adventure bike with an attractive design and lots of character. It comes with various modern features such as an ABS system and traction control, which makes the bike super-easy to ride. There are six riding modes: Sport, Touring, Wet and Urban for road conditions, then Enduro and Rally for dirt riding.
The bike features a unique Testastretta engine which is an L-shaped liquid-cooled V-Twin borrowed from the Monster 937 and Multistrada V2. It has lots of power under the hood, so you will have no problems riding the bike on motorways.
The standard version of the Ducati DesertX comes with a 5-inch TFT dash, dual LED headlights, off-road tires and engine guard protector. The 2024 Rally model is equipped with a higher front fender, smaller tank and different wheels, tires and suspension. You can also buy some additional accessories for the bike.
Please note that the below specifications are for the regular non-A2 compliant Ducati DesertX model, rather than the 35kW / 70kW A2-compliant one.
A2 Licence Compliance
The Ducati DesertX is a 937cc A2-friendly adventure bike. It has a power output of 81 kW (110 bhp), which exceeds the 35 kW (47 bhp) limit needed for an A2 licence. The bike has to be restricted by at least 56.7% to become A2 licence compliant.
