BMW R1150RS (2001 - 2005)
The BMW R1150RS is a sport touring version of the R1150R, which is one of the most reliable BMW bikes you can buy. It is a versatile A2-friendly motorcycle that doesn’t require much maintenance.
Both bikes share the same 1130cc flat twin engine that is very responsive and torquey. Compared to the standard model, the R1150RS offers much more power and better wind protection. It comes equipped with an adjustable windscreen and comfortable seat.
The build quality is excellent and the bike is clearly made to last. Also, it holds its value really well, so you can easily resell it.
A2 Licence Compliance
The BMW R1150RS is a 1130cc A2-friendly touring bike. It has a power output of 70 kW (95 bhp), which exceeds the 35 kW (47 bhp) limit needed for an A2 licence. The bike has to be restricted by at least 50% to become A2 licence compliant.
You will need a restrictor to ride the BMW R1150RS on an A2 motorbike licence. See the restrictor kits section to check out what restrictors are available for the BMW R1150RS.
